(Not According to the Appearance)
Text: John 7:14-24

v.24- "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

Objective: that we may learn not to judge according to appearance
but rather judge righteous judgments

Intro: Define Judge, Judgment, According, Appearance, Righteous

How to Judge Right/Righteously:

1. Learn from God - vv.15--19

He is the best source of knowledge

2. Seek glory for God - v.18

He is the righteous One, He deserves the glory

3. Fear no persecution - even to death - vv. 19-20

He can both protect you and raise you from the dead

4. Seek to be of help to people - and be good at it - v.23

nobody can deny this. - Gal. 5:22-23

Message/conclusion:

We are commanded to judge but not just any judgment
Judge Righteously with the right judgments each time
Not according to appearance, but how we should as we have learned of the Lord Jesus.
