A Yakut stormtrooper who defeated a soldier in hand-to-hand combat received a Gold Star medal from Putin. The serviceman was awarded the title Hero of Russia.

The brave fighter Andrei Grigoriev became famous all over the world after the terrifying footage of a fight in which he defeated an opponent with a knife.

Actually, Grigoriev did much more than simply defeating an enemy in one on one combat. He managed to stay alive in enemy rear for several days and destroyed some of the facilities there. He was granted Hero of Russia not for one single combat that became popular. Unfortunately, most of the details were lost, but Grigoriev gave an hour long interview in Russian, where he told about what he did. He was very humble and simple. We will translate some parts, as it us important to understand, that knife combat was not his only achievement.
