What Were Goliath’s Weapons? | Episode 6 of Part 2: Goliath

The bronze spear of Philistine champion Goliath is said to be an astounding 12.7 feet long and weigh 33 pounds! In the final episode of Part 2: Goliath in the “David & The Giants” series, Michael Lane deepens our understanding of Goliath’s weapons described in 1 Samuel 17:4-7 with evidence found in Israel. Scholars have analyzed the weapons discovered in Kfar Monash, concluding that the weapons would be more of an obstacle for the warrior using them, rather than an aid. Thus, these weapons would be too large for someone of a normal size, and these provide more evidence that there were giants like Goliath.
