Canada will soon transfer 5 billion Canadian dollars or $3.52 billion in military equipment to Ukraine, as well as profits from frozen Russian assets. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this during his visit to Kyiv.
"We will send 25 LAV II infantry fighting vehicles, two combat support armored vehicles, a landing system for F-16 fighters, four F-16 aerial training aircraft, as well as millions of rounds of ammunition, military equipment and medical supplies, where Ukrainian servicemen have been trained in Germany," he noted.
He added that Canada will also provide grants to support energy security.
Previously, Spain prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that Spain will provide Ukraine with a new aid package worth 1 billion euros. "Ukraine must achieve a just and lasting peace. I have just announced in Kiev that Spain will send a new military aid package worth 1 billion euros to the Ukrainian people," Sanchez wrote on his X account.
Estonia delivers a new military aid package to Ukraine, including artillery ammunition and food kits for Ukrainian soldiers.
Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal announced this on social media platform X. "To strengthen Ukraine's position and increase pressure on Russia Estonia is sending 10,000 rounds of artillery ammunition and 750,000 food packages for Ukrainian fighters," Michal wrote. He added that, at the earliest opportunity, the aid package would be supplemented with defense industry products worth over €100 million. "It is up to Ukraine to decide its future. You can always count on Estonia’s support.," Michal assured.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has pledged to transfer a new 3.5 billion euros aid tranche to Ukraine in March, EU leader made this statement during her speech in Kyiv.
“Europe is here to strengthen Ukraine in critical times. I can announce that a new 3.5 billion euros aid tranche will arrive in Ukraine in March,” she emphasized.
During his discussion with the President of Ukraine, President Rinkēvičs reaffirmed Latvia’s long-term support for Ukraine. “Latvia is allocating 0.25% of its GDP to military aid for Ukraine. The Baltic states and Nordic countries have jointly committed to increasing military assistance to Ukraine by providing training and equipment for a brigade-sized unit to strengthen the capacity of Ukraine’s armed forces,” emphasized E. Rinkēvičs.
It should be noted that the Prime Ministers of Canada, Estonia and Spain, Justin Trudeau, Christian Michal and Pedro Sanchez, the Presidents of Lithuania and Latvia, Gitanas Nauseda and Edgars Rinkėvičs, as well as the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the representative of the Council of Europe, Antonio Costa, are visiting Kyiv.
