UPW beat RCBW in Super Over. Both tied at 180 runs. Sophie Ecclestone POTM

The 9th Match of Women’s Premier League 2025 was played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women and UP Warriorz Women at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru on 24th February, 2025. In this match UP Warriorz Women defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru through Super Over. In this match UP Warriorz Women won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru while batting first scored 180 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 181 runs to UP Warriorz Women to win. In reply UP Warriorz Women also scored 180 runs all out in 20 overs and match got tied. Then UP Warriorz won the match through super over.
RCB batted very well and scored 180 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Ellyse Perry top scored with 90 runs from 56 balls only hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes. Ellyse Perry remained not out. Wyatt-Hodge made 57 runs from 41 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. Smriti Mandhana contributed only 6 runs and Richa Ghosh made 8 runs only.
In reply UPW also made 180 runs all out in 20 overs and match was tied. Kiran Navgire scored 24 runs, Shweta Sherawat made 31 and captain Deepti Sharma made 25 only. Sophie Ecclestone batted superbly and made quickfire 33 runs from 19 balls hitting one four and four sixes. Sophie almost won the match for UPW requiring 19 runs from the last over but was run out on the last ball of the match and thus match was tied since UPW ended up in making 180 runs.
In Super Over UPW batted first and could score only 8 runs in the super over and gave target of 9 runs to RCBW to win. But Again Sophie Ecclestone bowled for UPW and defended the target of 9 runs. RCB managed to score only 4 runs with Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh stranded at the crease.
Sophie Ecclestone was adjudged the Player of the Match.
