John Lennon
One of the most chilling last photos in history—John Lennon signing an autograph for his future killer, Mark David Chapman, just hours before his assassination. On December 8, 1980, Chapman waited for Lennon outside his apartment and shot him four times in the back.
Then, in 1970, 14-year-old Keith Sapsford snuck into the wheel well of a Tokyo-bound plane, longing for adventure. Moments after takeoff, the compartment opened—and he plummeted to his death. By pure chance, a photographer unknowingly captured the exact moment he fell.
Two tragic moments, forever frozen in time.
