Raw Body Cam Footage Shows Fatal Akron Police Shootout

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 8:45 AM, police dispatch received a call for service reference a stolen vehicle (white Toyota Camry). Officers were able to locate the vehicle near Kenmore Blvd and Lakeshore Blvd where they attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Upon doing so, the driver of the vehicle fired upon the police officers. Officers returned fire, striking the driver of the vehicle at least once. Officers attempted to administer emergency first aid until EMS arrived. The driver was a male in his 30’s and his name is currently being withheld pending positive identification and family notifications. He succumbed to his injuries as a result of the incident.
