Commending To The Conscience
(In All Honesty)
Text: 2 Corinthians 4:2

"But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty,
not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;
but by manifestation of the truth
commending ourselves to every man's conscience
in the sight of God.

Objective: that we may be honest in all things
and therefore live that life so pleasing to the Lord

Intro: Define Commend, Conscience, Honest/y
honest - adj. truthful or creditable; genuine or unadulterated;
showing uprightness and fairness; sincere
Philippians 4:8

How to be Honest:
1. Be Saved - v. 1 - "have received mercy..."
2. Realize that we are in the ministry - v. 1 - minister = servant - be humble
3. Treasure the Truths of God - the gospel v.7
4. Have the right Faith, right Spirit - v. 13, Jn. 3:11
5. Renounce Dishonesty - v. 2
renounce = to give up by formal declaration
6. Handle the Word of God Truthfully - v. 2 - "handling the word of God deceitfully"
7. Show the Truth - "manifestation of the truth"

Avoid hiding the truth - v. 3

8. Realize that God sees everything - v.2

"in the sight of God"

Message/conclusion:
Honesty is one of those traits that is impossible to fake
So let us be honest in all things, commending ourselves to the Lord
and men's conscience
