Cimarron (1931)

Directed by Wesley Ruggles, based on Edna Ferber’s novel. The story follows Yancey Cravat (Richard Dix), a bold and restless pioneer, and his wife, Sabra (Irene Dunne), as they journey to Oklahoma during the 1889 Land Rush. Cimarron won the Academy Award for Best Picture and is known for its grand scope and impressive early Hollywood production values.
