Christopher Langan, known for his high IQ and philosophical theory called the Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU), has expressed beliefs that align with certain aspects of Christianity. According to Langan, God is the creator of the universe and the Word, which is the divine principle of reason and order that allows anything to exist. He believes that the Word, or Logos, is a concept used by Greek philosophers to denote the identity of all existence and applies this concept to theology, stating that God is the Word, the source and soul of all existence, and uses the Word to speak creation into existence.

Langan does not belong to any religious denomination but respects all faiths, indicating a non-dogmatic approach to theology.
He has stated that he cannot afford to let his logical approach to theology be prejudiced by religious dogma.
Despite this, he believes in the existence of God and the concept of heaven, suggesting a belief in an afterlife.

In his interpretation of the Gospel of John, Langan emphasizes the importance of the Word in creation and salvation, highlighting that the light created by God on the first day is not physical but spiritual, encoding hope for salvation and immortality.

While Langan's views on Christianity are not aligned with any specific denomination, his philosophical framework incorporates elements of Christian theology, particularly the concept of the Word and its role in creation and salvation.
