Game On: Vivek makes it official in Ohio

Vivek Ramaswamy, a former 2024 presidential candidate, joined Strictly Speaking Radio Monday morning to officially launch his campaign for Ohio governor from his hometown of Cincinnati. The announcement marks a significant step in his political journey, following months of speculation about his ambitions. Vivek gained national prominence during his presidential run, and plans to kick off his bid at CTL Aerospace Inc., with subsequent events scheduled over two days in Columbus, Toledo, and Strongsville, according to sources close to his campaign.

Ramaswamy’s decision to run comes after he stepped away from co-leading President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative alongside Elon Musk. He left shortly after Trump’s inauguration in January 2025.

The move positions him in a competitive primary to succeed Mike DeWine, where he will face off against Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and according to some insiders, the newly-appointed Lt. Governor of Ohio, former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel.
