The MASSIVE Gaza Ceasefire Threat Nobody Is Talking About.

Right, so whilst it certainly has not been widely reported and despite questions finally getting asked, if not answered about these actions in parliament, the fact is that for well over a year now, the UK have been conducting surveillance flights from Cyprus over the Gaza Strip and presumably passing on the information to Israel for their use, we know they’ve been doing this, because flight logs, both public and military have to be made public and these can also be tracked using sites such as Radarbox and this is exactly what the investigative journalists at Declassified UK have been doggedly doing throughout all of this time, trying to find answers to Britain’s clearly quite active role in the atrocities Israel is committing, having taken place both under the Tories and also under Keir Starmer, who has visited that RAF base on Cyprus and perhaps rather stupidly made the public comment that there is a lot about what you do here, that we cannot talk about.
But of course now, there is a ceasefire and these flights should therefore have ceased, but guess what? They haven’t and the specific dates flights are continuing to be flown by the UK towards Gaza demand answers now for what we are actually complicit in, because whatever is being carried out in our name, with our public money cannot be any good.
Right, so just because there is a ceasefire in place does not mean there has been a cessation in the spy flights being flown by the UK over Gaza just as there is no information being put out in relation to these actions, the government clams up and that has been the case under Sunak’s Tories and Starmer’s Labour. Even when information has been requested in parliament, it has been met with stonewalling and functionally all we do know for certain is that these flights are happening and are happening from our RAF base on Cyprus, RAF Akrotiri, it has been there since 50’s originally built in connection with the Suez Crisis, but because of Cyprus’s close proximity to both the Israeli and Gaza coastlines, the distance from RAF Akrotiri to Tel Aviv by air is only 180 miles, a 40 minute flight time, it is rather nicely placed to fly into and out of Israel and also Gaza, but why would Cypriot based UK military flights be going into and out of Israel? And given these are all flights from a British base, they are flown with our assent, for some purpose because there have been so many of them and with no information being given as to what we are doing more and more it seems obvious to conclude that the UK government are not just passive supporters in the genocide of Gaza, but active participants, because we’re performing a role here.
So how do we know they are spy flights in that case then Damo? Well, thanks to Declassified UK who have used sites like Radarbox to track flights leaving RAF Akrotiri, and knowing that flight logs must be public knowledge so as to avoid air traffic collisions, we know the types of planes leaving, who they belong to and what purpose they serve and when the log comes up that a given flight from RAF Akrotiri is a Royal AirForce Shadow R1, then the only purpose that plane has is in intelligence gathering, so when I say there is no information coming from the Ministry of Defence, they’ll confirm the obvious, the claim from them also being, that the flights are to do with hostage rescue. There’s a but though.
Adding to that of course came Keir Starmer’s visit to RAF Akrotiri last December and this excerpt from Middle East Eye nails the issue he himself has raised:
‘Starmer's visit marks the first time a British prime minister has visited Cyprus in 53 years in an official capacity, and is considered important because the UK is a guarantor power for the island, which is divided between the Republic of Cyprus and the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
He visited RAF Akrotiri, one of two British bases on Cyprus, on Tuesday.
Starmer was filmed telling troops: "The whole world and everyone back at home is relying on you."
He added: "Quite a bit of what goes on here can't necessarily be talked about all of the time. We can't necessarily tell the world what you're doing."
Since early December 2023, the RAF has flown at least 450 flights over Gaza using Shadow R1 aircraft deployed at RAF Akrotiri.
Britain's defence ministry told Middle East Eye the flights gather intelligence, saying that information "relating to hostage rescue is passed to the Israeli authorities".’
Now the MoD have already stated what those spy flights are for, yet Starmer says a lot of what is going on out there cannot be talked about, begging the question of what else is going on?
And that brings us to the here and now. The Gaza ceasefire is still holding, has been for roughly a month now, during which time there have been several rounds of hostage exchanges. There would be no reason for these spy flights to look for hostages, to provide intelligence to Israel as to their possible whereabouts, which wouldn’t necessarily translate into their rescue anyway, since Hamas operatives would be there as well and given Israel’s preparedness to shoot their own people, Hannibal Directive, rather than see them be taken hostage, it’s no less credible to think they’d rather target that location with firepower and certainly Netanyahu’s unwillingness to do everything necessary to bring their people home, never risking his own position of course reinforces more and more people’s belief that he is not an honest broker.
With no purpose to these spy flights then, why have they still been happening? Well the exact dates they’ve been happening matter and beg even more questions as this excerpt from Declassified UK, published before the most recent hostage releases took place:
‘The Royal Air Force (RAF) has operated surveillance flights near Gaza on all five days of the ceasefire that Hamas released hostages, Declassified has found.
No spy planes were sent towards the strip on the other 20 days of the ceasefire.
The latest flight, by a Shadow R1 spy plane, occurred on 8 February when three Israeli men – Eli Sharabi, Or Levy and Ohad Ben Ami – became free from captivity. Evidence found by Declassified suggests the spy plane was in the air at the same time.
Other hostages were released on 1 February and 19, 25 and 30 January as part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. Among them was the British-Israeli, Emily Damari.
RAF aircraft were also in the air when these hostages were released, data indicates.
The planes take off from Britain’s air base on Cyprus, RAF Akrotiri, and head in the direction of Gaza, when they turn their transponders off.
Prior to the ceasefire, such flights were an almost daily occurrence with the UK government claiming they were helping Israel find hostages.’
So the obvious conclusion is that despite a ceasefire being in place, the UK is still spying on Hamas movements in relation to hostage releases and it seems obvious that that information would then be passed onto Israel. There is no need for flights relating to rescuing hostages when a ceasefire that is seeing hostages get released is taking place, so what does Starmer think he’s playing at? Well in fact he might be jeopardising the ceasefire entirely through RAF actions, or at the very least the spirit of it.
You see the first phase of the ceasefire agreement explicitly states that ‘All aviation (military and reconnaissance) in the Gaza strip shall cease for 10 hours a day, and for 12 hours on the days when captives and prisoners are being exchanged.’
The reason for this was to give Palestinians some relief and respite from airstrikes and to also give reassurances that no intelligence would be collected on hostage movements and locations should the ceasefire collapse and yet it is on those specific days that the RAF are flying over Gaza and if the ceasefire collapses and Israel manage to make further brutal assaults, we’ve not just aided and abetted Israel in that, but done so during a period of peacetime and therefore we sure as hell deserve to know what is being done in our name by a government so many of us here in the UK already hate, already don’t trust, are sickened by their avowedly and unapologetic Zionism and when the dust finally settles could leave the UK found guilty of war crimes itself and you know what? I’d be OK with that as long as it is the politicians who have ordered this who end up in the Hague and not avoid responsibility for their actions as has happened too many times before.
Frankly with the way Starmer’s polling has collapsed it’s a bit difficult to see how he could possibly make matters much worse for himself even if he is caught with his proverbial pants down with these spy flights, but in a sure sign of how out of ideas Team Keith are and how to find their way out of this polling mess they are in, they’ve decided to rehash a round of good old fashioned Corbyn bashing again. Yes, if in need of a positive spin, lets attack the guy who was Labour leader 5 years ago and somehow try and blame him for everything that is going wrong.
