Twilight star Gil Birmingham recently expressed his surprise upon discovering the franchise's upcoming animated adaptation, underscoring its lasting popularity. Best known for his diverse roles, including Chief Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone*, Birmingham played Billy Black, the father of Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), throughout the *Twilight film series, which amassed over $3 billion globally. Though the franchise has remained dormant since the conclusion of *The Twilight Saga*, a new animated adaptation is now in development for Netflix.

In an interview with Screen Rant's Grant Hermanns about the Yellowstone finale, Birmingham shared his astonishment at the announcement of the animated series. Reflecting on the franchise’s enduring legacy, he noted that he is still frequently recognized for his portrayal of Billy Black.
