Chapter 23

Chapter 24

Upon witnessing that the Lord is inclined to bless Israel, Balaam shifts his focus, abandoning his previous practices of seeking omens. He gazes upon the Israelites, who are camped by their tribes, and is filled with the Spirit of God. Balaam delivers powerful prophecies that extol the greatness and destiny of Israel, reinforcing their strength and future blessing as a chosen people. His words resonate with divine authority, affirming that no curse can prevail against them.

Chapter 25

The narrative takes a darker turn as the Israelites settle in Sittim and begin engaging in immoral relations with Moabite women. These interactions draw them into idol worship, specifically to Baal Peor, provoking the Lord’s wrath. God commands Moses to take drastic measures against the leaders who led the people astray. In a call for severe judgment, Moses instructs the judges to execute those who have turned to idolatry, an act meant to cleanse Israel of sin and restore divine favor.
