PAFs, AlNiCo and Les Pauls: Monstrous Magnet Mashup!

My pal Brian brought 2 of his Les Pauls for me to try today!
Ahh! A chance to compare a few pickups. Now this isn't a highly rigorous scientific experiment as if that was possible but I did have a chance to record his Gibson Custom Shop chambered '58 with Seymour Duncan Antiquities with AlNiCo II magnets and his 2019 Tom Murphy aged 60th Anniversary Les Paul with the Collector's Edition Series 1 AlNiCo IV magnets.

Yes, we have both sets on offer here. The Gibson Collector's Edition 1959 Humbucker in both Series 1 & 2 formats.

My pal removed the unaged covers before fitting them to his Les Paul.

So I recorded them in the order:
CS Chambered '58 (Seymour Duncan A2 magnets)
Custom Shop Murphy aged 60th Anniversary (Collector's Series 1 A4 magnets)
My Custom Shop Murphy aged 60th Anniversary (Collector's Series 2 A2 magnets)

Let the cork sniffing commence!

I'm recording the XLR speaker emulation on a Toneking Ironman II attenuator on my Two Rock Classic Reverb straight into an interface. No messing. No EQ. No Plug-ins.

Surprisingly, their was very little of real difference but what do you think?
