Progressive Academics and Activists Must Accept Latinx is a Slur!

After their failed attempt to introduce the Latinx label into the Latino community, progressives and academics are reeling from the public reaction against the term. Despite more than a decade of promoting it, they remain surprised to see that Latinos overwhelmingly reject the term, yet they continue to use it. It is time to accept that, descriptively, Latinx is often used offensively and is likely considered a slur by many Latinos.
