While President Donald Trump granted clemency last week to more than 1,500 people involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, one Florida man who was among those defendants have yet to celebrate.

Jeremy Michael Brown, 50, of Tampa, who received a seven-year sentence, is being held at an Atlanta federal prison with an expected release in December 2027, according to the federal Bureau of Prisons. He was previously being held without bond at a detention center in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

Details of his case was heard by White House officials, according to Carolyn Stewart, Brown’s attorney. She declined further comment. Prosecutors also declined to comment.

A memo prepared by one of Brown’s attorneys with the heading “Free Jeremy Brown” argues that the pardon should apply to Brown’s federal convictions for crimes in Florida because they are “100% J6 related as required by the Presidential Proclamation. Jeremy was arrested and imprisoned based on J6 allegations that led to his arrest.”
