This was the very first lecture of CS50 in 1996, when Professor David J. Malan himself took the course! Taught in Harvard University's Science Center at the time by the legendary computer scientist and programmer Brian Kernighan, who wrote the world's very first "hello, world" program. Professor Kernighan coined the name "UNIX," contributed to the operating system itself, and is the "K" in K&R, a famous book on C. Today, you can enroll in CS50x 2024 for free at https://cs50.edx.org.
