Rapper Tyga’s Mother, Pasionaye Nguyen, Passes Away at 53

Rapper Tyga is mourning the loss of his mother, Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen, who passed away on Jan. 18 at the age of 53. The “Taste” artist, whose real name is Michael Ray Stevenson, shared the heartbreaking news in a Feb. 21 Instagram post, accompanied by a series of emotional photos.

“Can’t imagine life without you by my side,” Tyga wrote. “You were the best and most supportive person in my life. I would trade anything just to be able to be with you again.”

Though the cause of death was not revealed, one of the photos showed Tyga holding his mother’s hand, with a hospital wristband dated Jan. 11, a week before her passing.

The 35-year-old rapper expressed his deep grief, saying, “I’ve been trying to understand why God takes the most meaningful and beautiful people away from us, but I know I’ll never get an answer that will fill the emptiness in my heart.”

Nguyen was known for her unwavering support of her son throughout his career. In several childhood photos shared by Tyga, she can be seen beaming alongside him at different locations, including a church and a marina.

Concluding his tribute, Tyga promised to honor her memory. “I love you forever, Mom, and I’ll do my best to celebrate you with every moment I have left.”

The rapper, who shares a son with ex Blac Chyna, continues to receive an outpouring of love from fans and fellow artists.
