Kash Patel Sworn in as FBI Director, Issues Stern Warning to Agents and Media
D.C. (Dist. of Criminals), February 21, 2025 — Kash Patel officially took over as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Friday, following a narrow Senate confirmation and a swearing-in ceremony led by Attorney General Pam Bondi at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Patel, a seasoned intelligence expert and longtime Trump ally, replaces Christopher Wray in what marks the beginning of a sweeping overhaul of the FBI.
Patel to Media: ‘Target Me, Not My Agents’
At his first press conference as FBI Director, Patel took direct aim at the corporate media, which has spent years smearing him due to his role in exposing corruption within federal law enforcement. He challenged journalists to focus their attacks on him personally, rather than harassing rank-and-file agents who are simply doing their jobs.
"If you have a problem, take it up with me. I’ve been slandered for years, and I can handle it. But leave the hardworking agents alone," Patel stated. "They serve this country, and they should not be punished for it."
Warning to FBI Agents: ‘Trump’s FBI Will Not Tolerate Corruption’
Patel also sent a clear message to FBI employees, making it known that Trump’s administration will no longer tolerate the political weaponization of federal law enforcement.
"For too long, rogue FBI officials have abused their power, deceived the public, and acted outside the law. That ends today," Patel declared. "If you break the law or engage in political retribution, you will be held accountable. This is not Biden’s FBI—this is President Trump’s FBI, and we will operate within the law, not outside of it."
Cleaning House: FBI Purge Underway
Patel's confirmation comes amid mass firings at the FBI, part of Trump’s effort to remove deep-state bureaucrats who undermined his presidency and misled the American public. Senate Democrats, led by Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin, fiercely opposed Patel’s nomination, accusing him of personally directing the agency’s internal purge even before taking office.
However, Trump, Bondi, and congressional Republicans have stood firmly behind Patel, arguing that his appointment is essential to restoring the credibility of the FBI after years of politicized investigations and misconduct.
A Veteran in National Security and Counterterrorism
Patel previously served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism, where he was instrumental in missions targeting al-Qaeda, ISIS, and other terror organizations. He also played a key role in exposing the fraudulent origins of the Russia collusion hoax and corruption within the intelligence community.
Trump’s FBI: A New Era Begins
With Patel at the helm, the FBI is expected to undergo major structural changes, including the removal of politically compromised officials and a renewed focus on national security threats.
