Week 4 Readings of our 2025 Chronological Bible-in-a-Year Reading Challenge see us finishing off the Book of Genesis and heading into the Exodus narrative. Whereas Joseph led Israel's family into Egypt, now, more than 400 years later, Moses and Aaron are leading them out!

In this video we welcome special guest and reading plan participant, Jaye, who shares some of her highlights and insights from last week's readings in the Joseph narrative.

Then, in this tutorial, Chad encourages us to approach this week's readings in four sittings, paying special attention to:

- Joseph and His Brothers (Gen. 42–45)
As one of the great "But God!" Stories of all time, watch how Joseph's conduct toward his betraying brothers foreshadows the life and ministry of Jesus Christ!

- Father Israel (Gen. 46–50)
See how Jacob 'adopts' Joseph's two sons as his own, effectively effectuating the 'double portion blessing' of the firstborn son and, in so doing, establishes the 13 Tribes of Israel with prophetic blessings and predictions for each.

- Moses' Origin Story (Exo. 1–6)
- The 10 Plagues and Crossing of the Red Sea (Exo. 7–14)

As we head into the Book of Exodus, pay attention to the numerous themes and motifs, established in Genesis, which are now revisited here, as God 'makes a distinction' between His covenant-people and those not in relationship with Him.
