The Charismatic Movement, a widespread and often controversial branch of Christianity, has sparked significant debate among conservative believers, especially Fundamental Baptists. While many see it as a revival of the Holy Spirit’s work, others, like myself, are deeply concerned about the movement's theological implications and its emphasis on signs and wonders. In this article, I’ll take a closer look at the movement’s origins, particularly focusing on the pivotal events that took place in Topeka, Kansas, in 1901. I’ll also share a Biblical perspective—particularly using the King James Bible—on why, from a conservative standpoint, the sign gifts, which the Charismatic Movement promotes, have long since passed away.
