The storm had raged through the night across the open plains of New Mexico. Lightning split the sky, momentarily revealing the vast emptiness of the desert before plunging it back into darkness. A Rancher huddled inside his small cabin, listening to the wind rattle the windows. He had seen his share of storms, but this one felt different—angrier and unnatural. By morning, the sky was clear again, and the desert lay still. As the Rancher saddled his horse and rode out to check for storm damage, something caught his eye—a glint of light bouncing off something metallic in the distance. He nudged his horse forward. What he discovered stopped him in his tracks. Scattered across the sand were strange pieces of debris. Some looked like metal but were impossibly light, thinner than aluminum. Others were covered in bizarre, geometric symbols. One large piece, curved and smooth, felt like nothing he had ever touched before.
