Harrowing home surveillance video captured an Amazon delivery driver plowing over a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident. The event occurred on February 18, 2025, around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of E. Pratt and S. Chester Streets in Baltimore’s Butchers Hill neighborhood.

The footage, recorded by a motion-sensor Ring doorbell camera, shows the Amazon van moving forward as the traffic light turned green, striking a 29-year-old woman crossing the street. The driver briefly hesitated before running over her again with the back wheels. After stopping to check on the woman, who was crying out in pain, the driver returned to the van and fled the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Jerome Allan Young Jr. of Baltimore County, turned himself in to authorities on February 20, 2025, and faces charges of negligent and reckless driving, with additional charges pending. Amazon has suspended the driver and is cooperating with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
