Haystack Reservoir is a hidden gem in Central Oregon! Located about 7 Miles South of Madras in the triangle between Madras, Prineville & Redmond, it is an often overlooked area of Central Oregon in Crooked River National Grassland, Ochoco National Forest!

The infrastructure is very well built out and impressive. There are four main zones:

- North Shore Fishing Pier Day Use Area
- West Shore Campground & Boat Ramp Launch (FULL REVIEW VIDEO BELOW)

It is a bit of a secret Sunrise Hack to go to North Shore Fishing Pier Day Use Area @ Haystack Reservoir to capture an absolutely incredible morning sunrise over Haystack Reservoir! I personally particularly like this in Winter. Here is the Video:
