The Mask of Dimitrios (1944)

Based on Eric Ambler’s novel. The story follows Cornelius Leyden (Peter Lorre), a Dutch mystery writer who becomes fascinated by the life and death of the infamous criminal Dimitrios Makropoulos (Zachary Scott). As Leyden investigates Dimitrios’ past, he uncovers a web of deception, espionage, and betrayal that spans across Europe.
