What Is A School To Work Pipline With Julianne Romanello

For years, groups like the Chamber of Commerce have been supporting programs like Common Core. We hear our political leaders say that we have to be able to make sure we educate kids so that they can get jobs and become productive members of society.

Certainly we want children to become productive members of society, but do they attain that status because of a job? Are they educated to become productive members of society for themselves to decide what kind of a job they want to pursue, or do businesses dictate education policy to make sure they have workers for their jobs?

There is a difference in philosophy. We don't educate children for jobs. We educate children so that they can think for themselves and decide what they want to be when it's time for them to become productive members of society.

We've had the wool pulled over our heads way too long. It's time for us to realize that the government doesn't want children truly educated, they want children who are easily trained for the jobs they have to fill. We'll talk to Julianne about how this works, how to spot it and how to stop it.
