Condors, particularly Andean condors (Vultur gryphus) and California condors (Gymnogyps californianus), are among the world's most efficient soaring birds.

Andean condors can travel over 150 miles (240 km) in a single day without flapping their wings, relying on thermal updrafts to stay aloft.

California condors, while slightly smaller, can cover up to 200 miles (320 km) per day in search of food.

Their massive wingspans—up to 10.5 feet (3.2 meters) for Andean condors—allow them to glide with minimal energy expenditure, making them masters of long-distance soaring.
