Forest Escape Easily Starting the Ashley Hearth Wood Stove and Quickly Cleaning the Glass Door

In the forest escape homestead, in winter, the wood stove is so important for heating, cooking and ambiance. We have the Ashley Hearth Wood Stove that heats 2,500 sq. ft. and it is larger than we need for our cabin in the woods. The door glass get covered with soot at times, the stove has to be cleaned of ashes, and sometimes it is hard to get a fire started. There can be a downdraft or humidity in the chimney and it can be hard to get a draft sucking up the chimney to take smoke out of the wood stove. We first warm the chimney. Then we build a fire. If smoke won't go up the cold chimney it comes out into your room and house. That is a bad thing. You can use fire starters, or not. Either way, a fire can easily be started to warm the chimney enough, and then to eventually build a fire with logs. Timewise we are looking at about five to ten minutes to warm the chimney normally. Today, in this video it took about six minutes. So being patient pays off!
