House Democrats are trying to shut down DOGE by pushing the so-called Taxpayer Data Protection Act, which would block DOGE from accessing IRS records to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse.
The Dems are now searching for three House Republicans to flip, and are targeting Representatives Mike Lawler (R-NY), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), and Don Bacon (R-NE) to help them block Elon Musk’s cost saving audits.
While Democrats say they fear a “unelected billionaire” making government more efficient, Republicans argue that DOGE is essential to tackling the $36 trillion national debt and holding Washington accountable – with out the cuts they warn, the country will go bankrupt.
