I was called by a individual who had lost his Gold Coin (necklace), and asked if I'd look for this $5 Dollar Gold piece when his excited dog jumped on him while he was exiting his boat at Kentucky lake. His mother had given it to him when he was young as it meant the world to him, and of course I immediately agreed to meet him and give it a shot. Kentucky lake is drained somewhat in the winter every year and so the water level around the dock was very low as you will see in the video, but the remaining water and mud made it pretty difficult. I also had a real issue with some old tin roofing that was under the water exactly where the gentleman said the coin feel into the water. After about 30-45 minutes later I actually ended up finding it clear on the other side of where the boat would of been when the man said it was ripped off by his dog and fell in the slip between the boat and dock. The gentleman had just previously walked away when I was looking for it for a few minutes and this is when the Lord allowed me to find it and so I was able to somewhat surprise him with it when he returned. I was surprised when I found it because it had rand up a high VDI # (silver range and not gold range) on my Nokta Legend metal detector and that was due to the silver bezel around the coin which I didn't realize it had. I had thought it was just the coin itself and had just had a hole in it for the necklace, and so I was actually expecting much lower VDI numbers on my detector while searching. This is why I explained to the gentleman in the video that it threw me off as I was looking for much more lower VDI numbers on my detector when I came across it. It doesn't really matter as I was eventually able to find it, however it was a real honor and blessing to find it for him and his reaction upon revealing was worth everything I went through to locate it! Hope you enjoy watching as much as I did in finding it for him!
