I have tested plenty of compact flashlights but never one like this, although looking online do I see some similar rivals available. This compact torch is designed to slip easily into the pocket or clip to your clothing and is very versatile in its use and features.
In the attractive branded box you receive the flashlight, charging cable and a nicely printed and easy to read multi language user guide. Build quality is first rate with a high end and premium feel to the device set by the aluminium alloy casing, stylish looks, clever design and a range of features belying the £14.98 pre-discount Amazon price (at the time of writing an additional 20% discount is available).
The torch weighs in at just 38g and is 111 x 25 x 8 mm in size. Looking at the front we see a large yellow COB light, with on the side above the single control button and on the side below a grommet protected USB-C charging port. On the base is a magnetic mount and on the other end is the main LED light. On the rear is a robust metal pocket clip.
The front facing main light comes on with the first short press of the control button. Short press again to scroll through COB light low, medium and high brightness, red/blue strobing and off. Double click to set whichever light is on into strobing mode. Single click in any mode after 30 seconds to turn off.
The non replaceable Lithium Ion 675 mAh battery is charged through the USB-C port on the side with a single charge giving up to 12 hours of use depending on the mode selected. The large charging status LED changes from red to blue when charging is complete.
The flashlight is very versatile in use, as a standard torch using the front facing light, as an inspection light using the COB light and magnetic base, and as a hands free light using the clip and COB light. The torch is very bright, particularly the COB light and at 675 lumens output can be quite dazzling if viewed too close, so take care, but this does lend itself well for use as an emergency or SOS light.
This is a remarkable torch, amazingly bright for its small size, robust, well made, and very versatile in use. For the price of less than £15, it really is a must buy item.
