Officer Brian Larison was patrolling early in the morning when he encountered the crash on U.S. 60 near Val Vista. The vehicle was already engulfed in flames, and the driver was unable to escape. Without hesitation, Larison used his baton to shatter the window, working quickly to free the woman before the fire could spread further.

An off-duty Peoria firefighter who happened to be nearby assisted in pulling the woman from the wreckage. Thanks to their combined efforts, she was safely removed before the flames consumed the car. Emergency responders arrived shortly after, providing medical aid to the victim.
