Ukraine Targets Russian Oil Refinery in Samara Region

On February 19, 2025, Ukrainian forces conducted a drone strike against the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia's Samara region. The attack resulted in a fire at the facility; however, no casualties were reported. The Syzran refinery, owned by Rosneft, processes approximately 8.9 million tons of oil annually, producing products such as fuel, aviation kerosene, and bitumen. This strike is part of Ukraine's strategy to disrupt Russia's oil infrastructure, aiming to weaken its military capabilities.
