Earnest Expectation
(Expectation vs. Reality)
Text: Philippians 1:19-22; Romans 8:19

Objective: that we may learn the difference of reality and expectation and that we hope in God and not on some luck or any unworthy source of confidence that can't actually deliver

Intro: Define Expectation, Hope, Earnest, Reality

How to align our expectation on the Reality of God:
1. Be Saved - v. 1

"to all the saints in Christ Jesus...", have peace with God first - v2

2. Be Consistent in fellowship and prayer - vv. 3-11

in many ways, your environment becomes you reality

and their expectation your expectation
3. Let love abound in knowledge and judgment - v. 9
4. Approve things that are excellent - v. 10
5. Be Sincere - v. 10
6. Be filled with the fruits of righteousness - v. 11
7. Recognize that not all Christians are in the same maturity level as yourself - vv. 15-19
8. Be Courageous unto death and Realize that as God has promised, so will happen

vv. 20-21

Message/conclusion:
God is the ultimate reality for us and for any.
Let us therefore align our expectation with how God lays out reality for us.
By this our earnest expectation will not be cutoff nor perish.
