Instead of finishing the books, George R.R. Martin has decided to take up academic writing about fictional diseases.

Winds of Winter has been delayed by everything under the yellow sun and now you can add real world science to the list of reasons the world of epic high fantasy gets sidelined. Martin can complain about the ending of Game of Thrones all he wants, but at least they finished the story!
