MIW defeated GGW by 5 wickets in the 5th match of WPL.

The 5th Match of Women’s Premier League 2025 was played between Mumbai Indians Women and Gujarat Giants Women at Kotambi Stadium Vadodra on 18th February, 2025. In this match Mumbai Indians Women defeated Gujarat Giants Women by 5 wickets. In this match Mumbai Indians Women won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Gujarat Giants Women while batting first were all out at the score of 120 runs only in 20 overs and gave target of 121 runs to Mumbai Indians Women to win. In reply Mumbai Indians Women scored 122 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 16.1 overs and won the match by 5 wickets.
GGW bated very poorly and were 28 runs for 4 wickets within the powerplay.They lost Beth Mooney one run,Laura Wolvaardt 4 runs,Dayalan Hemalatha 9 runs and Ashleigh Gardner 10 runs.
Harleen Deol top scored with 32 runs, Kashvee Gautam 20 runs. Tanuja Kanwar and Sayali Satghare scored 13 runs each.
Hayley Matthews took three wickets. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr took 2 wickets each and one wicket each was taken by Shabnim Ismail and Amanjot Kaur.
In reply MIW also not started brilliantly and lost three wickets at the score of 53 runs. Hayley Matthews made 17 runs, Yastika Bhatia made 8 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 4 runs only.
Nat-Sciver-Brunt made 57 runs from 39 balls hitting 11 fours and Amella Kerrr contributed 19 runs.
Sajeevan Sajana remained not out on 10 runs and G Kamalini not out on 4 runs and won the match for MIW.
MIW made 122 runs for loss of 5 wickets only in 16.1 overs and won the match comprehensively by 5 wickets. Hayley Matthews was adjudged the Player of the Match.
