Wat Ratchasitharam Ratchaworawihan (Wat Ratchasit) is located near Charoen Phas Bridge, Itsaraphap Road.

The temple was originally built in the Ayutthaya period. Formerly known as Wat Phlap During the reign of King Rama I, he ordered a new temple to be built next to the original Wat Phlap. The two temples were later combined. It was called Wat Phlap until 1798 when the name was changed to its current one.

When Rama III (King Nangklao) was ordained, he came to stay at this temple. When he ascended the throne, he ordered the temple to be restored.

"Phra Phuttha Chularak", the main Buddha image in the chapel is in the Rattanakosin art style (Bangkok styling). It is the Maravichai posture, stucco material, lacquered and gilded. It is said that Rama II (King Buddha Lertla Palai) sculpted the head and Rama III sculpted the body of the Buddha.

The temple is near the MRT and many other attractions like Wat Arun. It’s worth a short visit if you are interested in Thai temples.
