Small Plane Crashes In Covington, Georgia Leaving Two Dead

Posted • February 17, 2025: Covington, Ga. — Two people died Saturday night in a small plane crash in Covington, police reported. On Sunday, the Newton County Coroner identified the two people who died as James Hardee and Janet Hardee. The ages of the victims were not released. It's unclear if the two are related. According to the Covington Police Department, a single-engine aircraft took off around 11 p.m. from Covington Municipal Airport and then lost communication. Covington Police said the downed aircraft was found in the woods just north of the runway a little after 11 p.m. on Saturday night. (…)
