Reading of the 1535 Coverdale Bible - Day 48 of 365 (Numbers 8-10) Season 3 - "The Light, the Lamb, and the Trumpets' Call"

In tonight's reading, we journey with the Israelites as they continue their trek.

Chapter 8: The Lamp's Illumination

The Lord spoke to Moses, instructing Aaron on the proper setup of the lamps in the Tabernacle. Aaron followed the Lord's instructions and positioned the lamps so they would give light in the holy place. This symbolized the Lord's presence and guidance.

Chapter 9: Observing the Passover in the Wilderness

In the wilderness, a year after their Exodus from Egypt, the Lord commanded Moses to have the Israelites observe Passover in its appointed time. All were to follow the instructions and laws of the observance. There were those who couldn't observe the Passover due to being ceremonially unclean, so the Lord gave a provision for them to keep it a month later. The pillar of cloud and fire guided their travels.

Chapter 10: Trumpets' Call to Assembly and Journey

The Lord instructed Moses to make two trumpets of beaten silver. These trumpets would serve specific purposes: to gather the congregation, to signal the breaking up of the camp, to call the leaders together, and to announce when the people were to move. The priests would blow the trumpets. They also established a signal for war and times of gladness. The Israelites then began their journey, following the cloud.
