Adult Predators in Schools: How Flipping and Training School Boards Could be the Answer

Description: Predation and abuse of children by school employees have become nation-wide issues. Since the beginning of 2024, Sherrie Conley, who is a former Oklahoma State House Member, has compiled a list of Oklahoma cases reported over the last 14 years. However, she had not realized the problem's magnitude until she started the Broken Trust project.

In addition to the obvious toll on student well-being, failure to protect children places a finan-cial burden on taxpayers through civil lawsuits against the districts. There's much work to be done, and reforming school boards could be the key to slowing it down or even abolishing the predators from our schools.
