MASSIVE Blow For Israel In An EPIC Dose Of Karma!

Right, so for all of the atrocity Israel has been caught up in committing in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, the list just seems to grow and never shrink, at least when you get some time off – assuming you plan on returning to your next cycle of service, many aren’t – you can get away from it all, have a holiday, take some snaps in a far away land just like you were taking some shots of the atrocities you were committing and posting them to social media when all of a sudden, whoops, you’ve been recognised as that guy who did that thing in Gaza, well, you were warned not to post what you were doing, after all if your bosses know it’s illegal and something they shouldn’t be doing, so should you, but being the depraved sort, you couldn’t help but gloat, being one of the chosen people as you see it, you are untouchable and now it is being demonstrated that far from being untouchable and much like your most depraved of all Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, you might just find yourself wanted abroad as well and so you should be. Karma comes for the IDF more and more as facing charges for your war crimes might make you think twice about getting away from it all. The people of Gaza can’t, so why should you?
Right, so picture the scene: you’re an Israeli soldier, you’re on holiday at last, enjoying a well-deserved break after months of committing atroicity and genocide. Perhaps you’ve been snapping yourself doing it, breaking kids toys, wearing some abandoned frillies, having a laugh as you destroy what was left of someones life, all very hard work, that is exhausting and takes a toll I’m sure. But instead of relaxing on a beach or exploring a new city, you’re met with handcuffs and a police interrogation. Karma caught up with you. Well, for an increasing number of Israeli soldiers, this is becoming a reality, because various nations around the world have said enough is enough and if you come here and we can identify you, we’re going to have you ourselves and make you answer for what you have done.
Yes, Israel is having a royal paddy about their people being arrested for war crimes and crimes against humanity, but as the old saying goes, if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime and for this lot that is especially true given the people they are attacking so often are locked up with actually having done any crime of course, not that the mainstream media will ever have a bar of that.
Israeli soldiers are facing arrest abroad for their alleged involvement in war crimes during military operations in Gaza. We have to use that word alleged, the judicial process must run its course of course. This isn’t just about one or two cases either, it’s part of a growing global movement to hold the Israeli Defence Force, othe IDF, accountable for their actions.
Let’s start with a recent case that made headlines. A Brazilian court ordered a police investigation into an Israeli soldier who was vacationing in the country. According to The Cradle, the soldier is suspected of involvement in war crimes during Israel’s military operations in Gaza. Here’s an excerpt:
‘A Brazilian federal court has ordered police to open an immediate investigation into an Israeli soldier accused of committing war crimes in Gaza who is currently on vacation in the country.
According to the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a Belgium-based NGO supporting Palestinian rights, the federal court of Brazil's federal district, citing Article 88 of the Brazilian Code of Criminal Procedure, “directed the Federal Police to urgently execute the investigative measures requested by the Federal Prosecutor.”
HRF said the court order “marks the first instance of a signatory state to the Rome Statute directly enforcing its provisions without relying on the International Criminal Court (ICC),” adding that it sets a “powerful precedent” for nations that adhere to international law to hold the perpetrators of the genocide in Gaza accountable for their actions.’
The Hind Rajab Foundation was formed last year, named after the 5 year old little girl killed by the IDF along with 6 of her family members and two paramedics who tried to come to her rescue during Israel’s first invasion of Gaza following the events of October 7th. This is literally what this organisation came into being to do, hold Israel and the perpetrators of their crimes to account for what they have done when nobody else seems prepared to.
The court’s decision was based on evidence provided by them, which detailed the soldier’s alleged participation in attacks that resulted in civilian casualties. This isn’t just a one-off incident. It’s part of a broader trend where Israeli soldiers traveling abroad are being targeted with criminal complaints.
A soldier goes on holiday, and instead of posting Instagram pics, they end up facing a police probe. Karma some might call it, but ultimately it comes down to the principle of universal jurisdiction being upheld under international law, a legal concept that allows national courts to prosecute individuals for serious crimes under international law—like war crimes or genocide—no matter where those crimes were committed.
And let’s be clear: the allegations against these soldiers are not baseless. They’re rooted in years of documented human rights violations by the IDF in Gaza going way back before October 7th, but the legal focus right now is focussed on what they’ve done since then, an important distinction to acknowledge in my view.
For years, but most especially since October 7th and no longer unique to Gaza either, the IDF has been accused of committing widespread human rights violations, including targeting civilian infrastructure, using disproportionate force, and killing unarmed protesters.
During the 2014 Gaza war for example, over 2,200 Palestinians were killed, most of them civilians. In May 2021, another escalation led to the deaths of at least 260 Palestinians, including 66 children. Hospitals, schools, and homes were destroyed, leaving thousands homeless and traumatised.
As easy as it is to measure these things in terms of the headlines, these aren’t just numbers, these are real people—families, children, innocent civilians—who’ve been caught in the crossfire of a conflict they didn’t start. And let’s not forget the ongoing blockade of Gaza, which has turned the region into what many call an open-air prison, or the largest concentration camp on the planet, so again IDF soldiers being detained, there’s a large dose of karma in that for what their country has done in the land of other people, in the name of keeping them safe from the people they are actually oppressing.
The IDF’s actions have been widely condemned by human rights organizations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, as well as the United Nations. But here’s the thing, for as long as Israel ignores these calls for accountability and for as long as they are aided and abetted in that, such condemnations are weak, amount to nothing and sure, Netanyahu now has an arrest warrant out for him and that is significant, it’s avoidable and too many countries have refused to enforce it, where is the legal action against those nations, especially if they are Rome Statute signatories and are legally obliged to enforce? That’s why these legal actions that are actually happening abroad are so significant. They’re filling the gap where international institutions and nations are just plain failing to act.
And it’s not just Brazil either. Dozens of criminal complaints have been filed against Israeli soldiers in countries like Spain, the United Kingdom – yes even here - and South Africa. These complaints are being initiated by yes, Palestinian advocacy groups and human rights organisations, but also private citizens who are outraged by the scale of destruction in Gaza and therefore no matter how much influence Israel are buying abroad, with their propaganda and lies no longer cutting through anything like it once did, anyone they pass on the street could now be someone reporting them to the police.
Actions should have consequences. For the IDF too often that has not been true and now it is and while some might argue that these soldiers are just following orders, international law is clear: ‘I was just following orders’ is not a defence for war crimes, this principle was established during the Nuremberg Trials after World War II after all, and it’s been reaffirmed in countless international tribunals since. Soldiers have a moral and legal responsibility to refuse orders that violate international law, end of story and I defy any Zionist to try and say otherwise especially when they still make the claim the IDF are the most moral army.
So how is all of this going down with Israel then Damo? Well, according to the Palestine Chronicle, the Israeli government is now offering travel insurance to soldiers to cover the costs of legal defence in case they’re arrested or face legal action abroad!
Yep, let that one sink in a minute, the Israeli government is basically saying, ‘Go ahead and travel, but just in case you get arrested for war crimes, we’ve got you covered.’ Most moral army my backside.
This is of course a blatant attempt to normalise and legitimise the depraved actions these people have committed, actions that are if proven, clearly criminal. It’s also a clear sign that Israel is feeling the pressure though. They know the world is watching, and they know that accountability is catching up with them more and more and the more that grows, the more they won’t be able to risk leaving their own state and all of a sudden Gaza might not be the largest open air prison any more, but we’re probably a long way off from that right now.
The legal actions against Israeli soldiers are part of a broader global movement to hold perpetrators of war crimes accountable. This movement has gained momentum thanks to the efforts of Palestinian activists and their allies. Social media has played a crucial role in amplifying these efforts, allowing activists to share evidence of alleged crimes and mobilize support for legal action, which goes to show the power ordinary people have in sharing alternative media and stories the mainstream media intentionally cover up, or obfuscate, or ignore.
One of the most notable examples is the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, or BDS, movement. While BDS has faced backlash from Israel and its allies, the reason for that is that it works. It has also succeeded in raising awareness about the plight of Palestinians and the need for accountability, from which Israel must not be allowed to escape.
These legal actions are a reminder that justice delayed is not justice denied. They’re a sign that the international community is no longer willing to turn a blind eye to war crimes and genocide.
Of course Israel has consistently refused to cooperate with international investigations, notably an independent investigation into the night of October 7th and it’s sought to discredit and intimidate those who seek to hold it accountable so this must continue and we must never forgive and never forget as Israel wrote on the jumpers of those 369 Palestinian hostages they released at the weekend.
For the victims of these crimes, the prospect of justice - however delayed - is a source of hope. It’s a reminder that no one is above the law, no matter how powerful they may be and karma is coming for them, but it’ll be ordinary folks like us more often than not, that will be handing it to them.
Meanwhile, Israel have of course been breaching the ceasefire in Gaza yet again, the never met a ceasefire they felt they couldn’t breach, their word worth less than a bag of chips quite honestly, yet it is still holding however tenuously that might be. An incident involving the killing of police officers overseeing aid distribution in Rafah though, has been one of the most blatant examples to date though, but will mediators do anything when so many of them are compromised as being too pro Israel? Check out the details of that story in this video recommendation here as your suggested next watch.
