Boomerang! (1947)

Directed by Elia Kazan, based on a true story. When a well-respected priest is murdered in a small Connecticut town, public pressure forces the police to arrest a drifter (Arthur Kennedy) despite weak evidence. The district attorney (Dana Andrews) faces intense political and media scrutiny as he struggles between securing a quick conviction and upholding justice.
