Popes: Sixtus IV #210, VRP Catholic Media.
Pope Sixtus IV, born Francesco della Rovere in 1414, served as the 213th pope from 1471 until his death in 1484. He is known for his significant contributions to the arts, commissioning the Sistine Chapel and enhancing the Vatican Library, as well as for his efforts to reform the clergy and the administration of the Church. However, his papacy was marked by controversy, particularly his nepotism, as he appointed several relatives to powerful positions, including his nephews, which earned him criticism for prioritizing family interests over the welfare of the Church.
