Proclaim Jesus and find Heaven

Paul in this section makes a comparative statement contrasting the righteousness based on faith and the righteousness based on the law. He continues to make the point that living by the law will not get you into heaven because no one can live by and uphold all that the law requires. On the other hand living by faith in Christ and believing in Jesus will secure your place in heaven. Paul reminds us that there is no one who will ascend into to heaven to bring Christ to earth because God is the one who sent His son. Paul also states that no one can bring Christ from the grave because God has already done so through the resurrection.

Paul again uses Old Testament quotes to make his argument (Leviticus 18:5; Deuteronomy 30:12-14) in verses 5-8. He then pivots to his point about Christ. How through our faith in Him will get us to heaven by confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord. This is an outward confession that points to your inward faith in Jesus. What Paul is saying is that there is only one hope in securing our place in heaven and that hope is Jesus. If we receive, believe and live for Christ we will get there.

When we profess Jesus to all we show people what Jesus means to us and how Jesus is living in us and through us. The inner part comes when we believe with our hearts that God is the one who raised Jesus from the dead.

Scripture is telling us that if we truly love Jesus with all our heart we will confess Him with our mouth we will be saved. Scripture also reminds us that if we believe in Jesus we will not be put to shame.

I often hear from Christians that their relationship with Christ is private and in some cases only shared with others in a Sunday morning church service. This goes against what Jesus teaches us in (Matthew 28:19-20). If we are going to have a real relationship with Jesus it will take commitment on our part. This commitment includes but not limited to reading our word, living biblical principles, sharing with others and putting all of our trust and faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our time with Christ is so important in that it allows us to grow and become more righteous every day. The more righteous in Christ we become the closer to heaven we get. It is through our personal relationship with Christ that we are saved with the promise that we will live with Him for eternity. This relationship is open to everyone who believes and calls on the name of Jesus. It is a personal relationship that should be shared with others by the way we speak, the way we act and the way we love one another.

My prayer is that our relationship grow in the love we have for Jesus. I pray that the Lord gives us so many opportunities to share the good news with others. That we will be filled with the Holy Spirit, with joy and love. That our hearts will be bursting with the love of Jesus so we may give God the glory He deserves. In Jesus Mighty Name I pray Amen! Amen!
