February 16, 2025, 2 Peter 2:1-3, "Can You Spot A Counterfeit?" (Live)

2 Peter 2:1-3, "alternate" beliefs that have an outward appearance of Christianity. However they all reject:
. salvation by grace
. the eternal security of the believer in Christ
. the priesthood connection between the follower in Christ and the Christ Himself

Ephesians 2:8-9, salvation is a gift from God- God's grace alone

John 3:16, John 10:27-29, the sovereign God calls and chooses the people, and man cannot remove the election
Ephesians 1:13-14, believers are God's purchased possession on layaway, and God has put up the Holy Spirit as earnest against their account. In order for followers to loose their salvation, God would have to remove and deny Himself.

1 Peter 2:5, 9, Jesus Christ is currently the last prophet and priest, and the royal priesthood of men has already ended. There is no man sufficient enough to be a priest between a person and God, therefore followers of Christ go directly to the Lord in prayer.

Matthew 1:23, Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Mary), therefore the seed of sin from a father of flesh could not corrupt Him
John 14:7-10, Christ was God in the flesh
Matthew 4:15, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Jesus Christ was sinless, and was the perfect sacrifice for the Father to impute the sin of believers onto. Believers' sin was imputed onto Him (the Christ), and His righteousness (by His blood sacrifice) was imputed onto them.
Matthew 17:22, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Jesus Christ was killed and put into a tomb, but was resurrected on the 3rd day
Genesis 1, John 1:1-3, God created everything: the Word spoke everything into creation, and the Word WAS God (not a god). Heaven and earth will pass away, but the Word will not pass away.
Acts 4:12, John 14:6, Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation
Hebrews 1:1-2, Revelation 19:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, God's Word is the only Holy Word. There is none other besides God's Word.
Revelation 20:11-15, hell is real. The 1st hell is Sheol (death), the 2nd is Hades (where lost people go after they die today), the 3rd is Gehenna (where death and Hades are cast into at the very end)

2 Timothy 2:15, followers of Christ study the truth, which enables them to spot the counterfeits.
