First Documented Destruction of U.S. M60 AVLB Bridge Layer by Russian FPV Drone Operator ‘Pinocchio’

"The first documented case of the destruction of an American M60 AVLB bridge-laying vehicle has been recorded. The vehicle was destroyed by an FPV drone operator with the call sign ‘Pinocchio’ in the occupied Kolmakov farm in the Kursk region. The operation was carried out by Russian forces, who used precision drone strikes to neutralize the target.

The M60 AVLB, a 56-ton armored vehicle based on the 1970s M60A2 tank, was attempting to construct a bridge over the Smerditsa River when it was targeted. The bridge, capable of supporting up to 60 tons, was partially deployed before the vehicle was disabled by the drone strike.

This marks a significant moment in the conflict, as it demonstrates the effectiveness of FPV drones in disrupting enemy logistics and infrastructure. The operator, known as ‘Pinocchio,’ has previously been credited with successful strikes against Ukrainian military equipment, including tanks and armored vehicles .
