Creatures known as vampires have had many names throughout the years: vrykolakas, strigoi, and nosferatu. In Filipino folklore, they are known as Aswang. However, no matter what they are called, they all share common terrifying characteristics- the ability to shape-shift, an undying thirst for blood, and what seems like immortality.
In this video, we review an infamous case in the 1950s, where a government PSYOPS, led by Major General Edward Lansdale, conspired with an aswang vampire to remove a Hukbalahap rebel stronghold in the Philippines.
