A 16-year-old suspect accused of an armed carjacking will remain in custody at a juvenile intervention center until his next court appearance, a magistrate ruled Tuesday.

Columbus police said the teen stole a car from a woman at gunpoint near the library on North Nelson Road. He was already in a stolen car before the alleged carjacking, according to police.

"I ran into the library because he was holding a gun," the victim told 911.

During the chase, the teen reportedly fired shots and tried to run away after crashing into a police cruiser. Officers eventually tracked him to a Grove City dumpster and arrested him.
