Compilation Of Little Kids Who Insist They Are Right

There are some hilarious moments in this video. Even babies speaking pure gibberish (as far as we can tell) can be extremely entertaining if they are insistent enough. And we have insistence aplenty in this assortment of infants and toddlers dreaming up responses to the many challenges of growing up in America.

One little girl thinks she needs two boyfriends. Where would she ever get such an idea? We will say a little prayer for the future men in her life. We can understand that there would be only one Batman, however, and of course if your child is Batman, that leaves whoever’s left over to be Robin. And what more direct way to deal with being put in a play pen than to proclaim that you are, in fact, the dada? If you say it with enough conviction, then it must be true.

The infant’s acquisition of real world experience is so limited that he must fill in the gaps using his unlimited imagination. They pick up things up so fast, much faster than their ability to master speaking skills. Even the little ones arguing with mom in gibberish are saying something, thinking something. We just don’t know what. They have different rules for logic, and if only we understood those rules there might be fewer arguments. For instance, “’Cuz you’re a kid, I can’t be a kid?” On the one hand, Mom, you’re right, but on the other hand, if I’m the kid, then how can you also be the kid?

Then there’s the inconsolable little girl who wants a baby so badly that she is apparently telling everybody her mom’s going to have one. Now, little kids have no idea just how uncomfortable that might make mom. When a kid’s demand butts up against reality, though, “Let me have a baby!” –you can see someone’s going to lose, and it won’t be reality. As for the little girl “trying to be sneaky,” if you can’t actually speak yet, you can at least make dramatic gestures with your hands to try and get your point across.

We’ve also learned you’re never too young to learn how to eat a gyro; and that if it’s in your nature to be a contrarian, then, well, “No, I’m not smart!”, even when dad insists you are. As for the little boy arguing with dad about whose wife mom really is, we think Freud said something about Oedipus?

Mommy doesn’t take sassy girls into the store? Two can play at that game, says the sassy little girl, who doesn’t take naughty mamas into the store with her! And finally, when you know something, you just know it—like when mom tells you the baby’s name is Hunter, but you know better…it’s Joe! And, for whatever reason (we may never know) the bucket full of weeds really needs to be scattered all over the lawn again.

Many decades ago there was a television show called “Kids Say the Darndest Things,” and by no means did exhaust the pool of material. As long as we keep having babies, that well will never run dry.
